Introduction
- The Patient Partner Program (P3) is an innovative teaching tool
designed by the Launceston Clinical School in 2005, to provide
predictable and timely clinical teaching opportunities in a safe,
non-threatening learning environment for Year 5 and 6 medical students.
- Patients Partners are recruited from the community to be
collaborators in the students learning experience, they generally will
have chronic health conditions and they give 2 hours of time each
Patient Partner Program session they attend. We have developed this
Patient Database to enhance our P3 teaching program.
Software
- The software helps manage all key areas of the PPP. It's very important to keep
up to date details on all the patients, doctors, tutors and students. The relationships
between all these people revolve around the consultations between a group of students,
a tutor doctor and a patient. These complicated relationships are managed through a
highly streamlined interface, which helps the coordinators and the tutors get to the
information they need fast and efficiently, and has application-wide searching.
